Compensation Layers

Median Compensation

The source for median compensation information presented in the PA Job Source Layer is the AAPA's 2023 salary report.  Aggregated data is presented for specific US Census designated Metropolitan/Micropolitan areas where sufficient responses were received.   Where inadequate responses were received, data is aggregated for all Metropolitan or Micropolitan areas at a state level.

Non-metroplitan/micropolitan county data is aggregated at a state level, and presented where adequate responses were received.

For more information on the AAPA Salary report, please visit the AAPA Salary Report page.

Cost of Living Adjusted Compensation

Cost of living adjusted compensation uses compensation data as described above, and applies a normalized state-level cost of living index as gathered from the C2ER Cost of Living Index.  Index and average prices are based on data gathered between Q12023 - Q32023. For more information on the methodology, please visit C2ER Cost of Living Index website (www.coli.org).
